This is a fantastic opportunity with a UK leading Creative PR Marketing Agency based in the South West. They are seeking a talented PR Account Manager to join their team.

Company description
They are an award-winning digital marketing agency who work with top brands such as Superdry, Confused.com, Made.com, IKEA, JustEat, Gocompare, Hungry House, Optical Express and many more.

The team is made up of public relations, video, social media, web development and design professionals and they love to create amazing content and campaigns for our clients, whilst having a lot of fun in the process.

Job description
If you want to join this great team as a PR Account Manager, you will need to have at least 2 years' PR agency or in-house PR experience; or be a senior public relations executive looking for a step up.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of PR and work as part of the public relations team within the company, helping to manage some of the more junior members of the team, lead PR strategy development for clients and work day-to-day on accounts to secure top-tier media coverage for them. Ideally, you will have great media relationships to utilise and a solid understanding of what it takes to hit the headlines in all the right ways.

They are pioneers in cross-platform campaigns (using video, social and/or web widgets to drive campaigns forward) and they expect the successful candidate to have an understanding of the following (although training will be given):

  • Awareness of national media, including online, print, broadcast and everything in between
  • How to write great press releases and compelling media pitches
  • Knowledge of the link-building side of search engine optimization (SEO) and what it takes to build links for clients
  • Ability to create and implement PR proposals and strategies for clients that will meet objectives and KPIs
  • Confidence to take part in (and sometimes lead) new business pitches
  • Knowing what it takes to build excellent relationships with journalists
  • What a strong idea/campaign looks like for PR campaigns that will generate widespread, target media coverage (and, most importantly, knowing what journalists will actually want)
  • A university qualification is a nice-to-have, but definitely not a need-to-have. An excellent standard of English is, however, essential.

The skills and traits that are essential:

  • Creativity and confidence by the bucket load
  • An unwavering determination to succeed and get results
  • Positivity and a cool, calm, and collected under pressure
  • Great research skills (some campaigns require lots of fact-finding)
  • Ace time management skills (you will be very busy at times!)
  • Excellent spelling/grammar and grasp of the English language (you will writing lots and be one of the in-house proof-readers)
  • You will be responsible for your very own clients, from coming up with campaign ideas & formulating strategies and plans, to writing/distributing press releases, calling journalists to pitch stories, and going along on client/new business meetings + pitches.

If this sounds like you, come and join the team! We can't wait to hear from you!
